Metpar offers Class "A" in steel products...
| We are pleased you saw our "Class A" ad in the recent issue of "American School & University" publication. Below is some additional information regarding its content. |
We're Class A
We feel it is important to point out that our standard line of powder coat and stainless steel partitions have always carried a class A fire rating. With the growing number of specifications being written for Class "A" HDPE material, it is important to understand the advantages of specifying steel and stainless steel partitions:
- Class A HDPE costs over 4 times more than our metal partitions
- Class A HDPE weighs 30% more than standard HDPE, and 5 times more than steel and stainless steel partitions, thus raising freight costs and making material handling on the job site difficult
- This extreme extra weight can reduce the life of hinges and strikes
- Class A HDPE has long lead times, over 4 times longer than metal partitions
Powder Coated Steel Characteristics
The new processes involved with powder coat technology have greatly improved over the years. Our powder coat process utilizes the latest state of the art techniques, providing an extremely hard and durable surface. These long lasting features are due to the use of pretreated galvanneal automotive steel, an epoxy-hybrid powder, applied electrostatically and baked until cured. This surface is three times more resistant to humidity and salt spray than solvent based painted finishes of the past.
LEED Values
Our Powder Coated Painted Steel and Stainless Steel qualify for LEED 2.2 Certification. Click HERE for our complete LEED Values chart.

We now have plastic shoes and brackets for our line of Solid Plastic HDPE (Polly SPR). We have 9 colors to match and/or compliment our numerous colors of solid plastic partitions. You can now choose to specify solid molded plastic shoes, and full length extruded plastic brackets to further enhance the look of the solid plastic line of partitions. For more information, please see our Polly Solid Plastic color chart.
New Extruded Aluminum Privacy Strips!
We now have available privacy strips that eliminates any sight gap on either side of the door for our line of powder shield or stainless steel partitions. One strip on the latch side acts as a continuous door stop, while the other is positioned between the upper and lower hinge, eliminating any chance of "peeking" into the stalls. These strips can be specified for new construction, or ordered to be applied to existing baked enamel (powder shield) or stainless steel layouts. Contact Metpar sales for more information.
